Meet the team
Shannon grew up on the west coast of Scotland, where her father was a fisherman, and her love of the ocean began. She pursued an undergraduate degree in Marine Biology and Oceanography, a master’s in Oceanography, and a PhD in Marine Biogeochemistry. During her time studying, she was lucky enough to travel the world; however, all the different countries had something in common – their marine environments were suffering. After completing her PhD, she co-founded ReefCircular with the goal of helping to restore marine environments in a sustainable manner.

Camila grew up in bustling Mexico City, far from the ocean, but always with a desire to make a positive impact. She chose to study architecture to influence the way people live. However, her curiosity led her to explore technology and biomaterials, prompting her to pursue a master's degree in Denmark.Today she combines her architectural skills with a passion for innovation through, Reef Circular. This venture allows her to use new tools to impact underwater ecosystems. Camila's journey is a blend of architecture, technology, and a commitment to making a positive difference in the world.
